College Football Playoff

The official College Football Playoff rankings aren’t revealed until Week 8 concludes. In preparation of those rankings we have compiled a list of teams we believe will be heavily involved in the College Football Playoff discussion.

Top 4

ALABAMA

This is nothing new, the Crimson Tide have been a dominant force in college football for years under Nick Saban the difference now is they have a legitimate QB. Since taking over in the National Championship, Tua Tagovailoa has never looked back as the Tide are averaging nearly 54 points a game with him under center. Next Game: at LA-Lafayette

CLEMSON

The most feared defensive line in the country will create mismatches for anyone they line up against. Dominating the line of scrimmage at this level, or any level for that matter is a recipe for success. One common theme among College Football Playoff teams has usually been dominant defensive lines. This one might be the best of the CFP era. Next Game: vs Syracuse

GEORGIA

Through 4 games Georgia already has two SEC road wins under their belt. Even in a game at Missouri where the team struggled they still managed to escape with a double digit victory. Kirby Smart really has this thing rolling and there’s no real end in sight with their QB of the future already enrolled. Don’t be surprised to see Jake Fromm and the Bulldogs back in the championship game and in the CFP conversation for years to come. Next Game: vs Tennessee

OHIO STATE

Ohio State scores in bunches, after a shakey first half against TCU they rallied to outscore the Horned Frogs by 2 TD’s in the second half to secure the victory. Dwayne Haskins has been impressive but the true test comes this weekend in Happy Valley as the 4th ranked Buckeyes take on #9 Penn State and they’ll do it without All-American Nick Bosa.
